Hello, I'm Patricha, My husband, Jack and I moved to
Texas in 1999 and I have worked in an animal hospital
since. For over 20 years my favorite breed has been the
miniature schnauzer, and we always have had a pack of
them in our house. We now have discovered a love for
toy schnauzers as well. The term toy is a description of
the size, they will be registered as miniature. It will
probably be several years before they will be recognized
in their own category. There are some breeders and
people that think that there is no such thing as a toy
schnauzer and that they are merely runts and unhealthy.
That could not be any further from the truth! They also
think that no one should breed them and everyone
should stick to the breed standard. Although we love the
miniature, We are very happy to see a toy in the breed
that we love. How lucky are us miniature owners, that
people did not have that mind set when the miniature
was bred from the larger standard schnauzer! This
Smaller schnauzer has all the qualities of the miniature
that we have loved, just in a smaller compact version.
